Shocks lose a heartbreaker 2-1

The Shocks lost a heartbreaker to Wake Forest United this morning 2-1 in the semi-finals of the State Cup tournament.

The Shocks battled back from an early own goal to tie the game 1-1 mid way through the first period on a goal by Kyra. The game remained 1-1 until the United scored off a corner kick with three minutes to go in the second period.  The game ended 2-1.

The Spring 2010 season comes to an end – only thing left is the party on June 6th!

Shocks advance to State Cup semi-finals!

The Shocks victory over NMSC White assured the team a berth in the State Cup semi-finals in Greensboro next weekend. The Shocks and Rockets both ended up 2-0-1 in Group B. The Shocks win the tie-breaker with the Rockets based on goal differential.

The Shocks play Wake Forest United next Saturday morning at 8:00 AM at Bryan Park Field #5 in Greensboro.  If you need a hotel room contact Cindy Wagner who is coordinating hotels for the team.


Shocks defeat NMSC White 4-2

The Shocks defeated NMSC White 4-2 on Day 2 of the State Cup tournament.  The Shocks dominated the ball but NMSC stayed in the game until mid way through the second period when two quick goals put the Shocks ahead to stay.  The Shocks goals were scored by Caroline, Bridget, Kyra, and Adelaide.
